While we acknowledge the contributions of everyone in this industry, this series aims to elevate the voices and stories of women who often get missed. Lindsey Haught is up next.
What is your current role and company?
President and Founder of HTR Logistics, a female-owned and operated non-asset-based freight brokerage specializing in creating tailored logistics solutions for shippers, receivers, and carriers across industries.
How did you end up in the world of supply chain?
My journey began in 2015 when I was drawn to the fast-paced, relationship-driven nature of the freight industry. Founding HTR Logistics in 2021 was a natural progression, fuelled by a vision to deliver exceptional logistics solutions while empowering diversity and inclusion in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
What is your favourite part of your work day?
Connecting with my team and our partners to solve complex logistics challenges. There’s a deep sense of fulfillment in knowing that our work keeps supply chains flowing and makes a tangible impact on businesses and communities.
What is the least favourite part of your work day?
Chasing unpaid invoices or resolving disputes stemming from external issues like carrier non-compliance. While necessary, it detracts from the time I could spend fostering relationships and driving innovation.
What is a systemic issue in your part of the supply chain that concerns you currently?
The lack of visibility and transparency between stakeholders, which often leads to inefficiencies, missed deadlines, and unnecessary costs.
How would you address it if you had the power, money, or influence?
I would invest in cutting-edge, AI-powered technologies that provide real-time data sharing and predictive analytics for all stakeholders. Simultaneously, I’d promote collaboration across the supply chain through standardized practices and partnerships to build trust and efficiency.
What is one piece of advice you have for young women entering your field?
Never let self-doubt or industry stereotypes diminish your confidence. Build your expertise, speak with authority, and don’t hesitate to claim your seat at the table—your voice and perspective matter.

How do you deal with creeps you encounter in your work day?
With professionalism and boundaries. I immediately steer conversations back to business, set firm limits, and if necessary, remove myself from the situation. Respect is non-negotiable, and I protect my team and myself from any unwelcome behavior.
What is your favourite way to unwind?
Spending quality time with my family, traveling to scenic destinations, or indulging in a good book paired with a glass of wine.
What have you recently changed your mind about?
I’ve shifted my perspective on work-life balance—realizing that balance doesn’t mean equal hours but rather aligning time with priorities that bring the most value to your life.
