  1. What is your current role and company?

    • Independent Freight Agent

  2. How did you end up in the world of supply chain?

    • It fell into my lap. I was hired on as an office coordinator/dispatcher and it just fell into place from there and by fell into place, I mean it was more like a messy avalanche but here I am.

  3. What is your favourite part of your work day?

    • That call at 2am from a broken down driver. Just kidding. I enjoy the relationships I have built with both my customers and drivers, so the comedic relief and comradery is something I embrace. Also that 5pm beverage tastes extra good on the more trying days.

  4. What is the least favourite part of your work day?

    • Definitely waking up at the wee hours of the morning to find something isn't going as planned.

  5. What is a systemic issue in your part of the supply chain that concerns you currently?

    • Port delays, closures, and strikes.

  6. How would you address it if you had the power, money, or influence?

    • Pay port employees a decent wage. That work is not only tedious, but at times very dangerous.

  7. What is one piece of advice you have for young women entering your field?

    • Take in as much information as you possibly can. Try different arenas of this industry, grow a tough exterior, don't let things out of your control, control you and practice your mama bear voice, you're gonna need it.

  8. What are your top 3 podcasts? (do not have to be industry related)

  9. Who are your top 5 women in supply chain to follow on LinkedIn?

  10. How do you deal with creeps you encounter in your work day?

    • [It] depends on how they creep. Most messages I either ignore. Once it becomes creepy or their intentions start to show through, I have reported a few. And others, well if they're bold enough on social media [then] they are bold enough for my social wall of shame.

  11. What is your favourite way to unwind?

    • Reading dark romance novels, true crime documentaries, and biographies. I have no more room for house plants, but where there's a will there's a way. Music [is] a very big outlet for me.

  12. What have you recently changed your mind about?

    • Whether [or not] the sexual harassment (or any other kind of unacceptable harassment in the workplace or business dealings) you may have endured is worth reporting. It is.

  13. 5 must haves to get you thru the day?

    • Humour

    • Coffee

    • A few moments to separate myself from work

    • Upbeat background music

    • A little bit of insanity because nobody can be completely sane and work in this industry, the touch of insanity is what gives [me] the drive to thrive.
